Help Menu

The Help menu provides access to the application information dialog and opens the online documentation website. It is a small menu, but it is the natural place to document the project, its funding, citation information, and the people who contributed to spectrIm-QMRS.

Current menu

In version 3.0.1 Alpha the Help menu contains two entries: About... and Online help ... The About entry opens the local application information dialog. The Online help entry opens the spectrIm-QMRS website index page.

Unlike the other main-menu help entries, the Help menu does not currently point to a dedicated menu page in the Java source. The current action opens index.html, which remains the main entry point for the website.

About...

Opens the spectrIm-QMRS About dialog. The current dialog summarizes funding sources, contact information, contributors, and citation information. This is useful for users who need to identify the software origin, acknowledge the project, or cite the work in publications.

The current About dialog lists support from the EU Marie Curie FP7 TRANSACT project, the European Union Horizon 2020 research and innovation program under Marie Sklodowska-Curie grant agreement No. 813120, and Swiss National Science Foundation grants 182569 and 207997.

Online help ..

Opens the spectrIm-QMRS website. In the current Java source this action points to the website index page rather than to a dedicated Help-menu page. The index page is therefore the current landing page for the online documentation.

To be checked manually: decide whether the Help menu should continue to open index.html or whether it should open this dedicated Help menu page in a later version.

Current About-dialog citation

A dedicated citation page now collects the main spectrIm-QMRS, TDFDFit, quality-control, and SLOW-editing references: Citing spectrIm-QMRS.

The current About dialog lists johannes.slotboom@insel.ch as contact address.

To be checked manually: confirm whether this remains the preferred public contact address for version 3.0.1 Alpha.
