3.0.4 alpha international
This release fixes DICOM receiving and file handling, spectroscopy metadata display and Linux HLSVDpro processing. It also adds direct SLOW-EPSI raw-data reconstruction, standalone SVS quality-control tools and an expanded international interface.
Bug fixes
DICOM listener controls and output
The DICOM Network Listener and Renaming Control window now opens at the size its controls need. Server settings and the output reporting received and renamed cases are visible. Expanding or collapsing the settings resizes the standalone window to fit. The embedded receiver can be stopped with the Stop listener control.
Incoming DICOM files and directory cleanup
- After a DICOM file has been successfully stored in the renamed output location, its incoming copy is removed.
- Files already present when the listener starts and newly received files follow the same handling workflow, including nested input folders.
- Non-DICOM files, DICOMDIR indexes and remaining ancillary folder contents are preserved in the configured temporary directory. Relative folder structure is retained and name collisions do not overwrite existing files.
- Empty processed subdirectories are removed only inside the configured input directory. The input directory itself and its parent directories are kept.
- Files still being transferred are left alone, and DICOM file handles are closed so that completed incoming files can be moved or removed.
See the DICOM listener workflow and DICOM Network menu.
Siemens edited and enhanced spectroscopy DICOM
Multi-instance edited SVS acquisitions can load an individual response or the difference between two selected responses. The DICOM selector now also reads TE and excited-volume dimensions from standard MR Spectroscopy Storage data used by Siemens XA-line and later software. This applies to both SVS and CSI/MRSI data, while older Siemens CSA spectroscopy remains supported.
For spectroscopy, the table displays the excited volume, rather than the larger encoded CSI field of view. For images, FOV dimensions are rounded to the nearest whole millimetre, avoiding long floating-point values.
HLSVDpro on Linux
Both serial and parallel Python HLSVDpro processing now start without trying to load the old Windows HLSVD DLL. They use the supplied platform-specific Python, NumPy and SciPy runtime. The fix covers both normal dataset processing and the parallel batch caller.
See the HLSVDpro configuration and water-removal and denoising guide.
Further improvements
Direct SLOW-EPSI DAT reconstruction
The SLOW-EPSI importer can reconstruct supported Siemens SLOW ts-EPSI DAT acquisitions directly in Java, without running MATLAB. It produces full, partial, difference and water-reference SID datasets with reference DICOM geometry and reconstruction metadata. Existing preprocessed SID imports remain available.
Reconstruction uses a bounded CPU worker pool, buffered DAT indexing and memory-aware receiver batches. Progress and cancellation are supported, and invalid or unsupported input layouts are reported. Numerical regression checks cover serial/parallel agreement and preservation of output through the read optimizations. Comparison with the reference MATLAB outputs remains part of validation for this reconstruction route.
SLOW-EPSI background and existing workflows
Standalone SVS-MRS-QC tools
A separate single-voxel spectroscopy quality-control workspace brings together DICOM reception, acquisition information, spectrum inspection and manual Siemens RDA or supported SVS Twix DAT loading. It supports Good/Bad labelling with the established 47 TD/FD quality features, editable random-forest classifier definitions, configurable training and saved models.
The workspace includes an offline English help window. A classifier is trained from reviewed, locally labelled examples; adding the training tools does not provide a validated classifier for every scanner or sequence. These additions complement the existing Clinical Viewer quality-control workflow.
Turkish and broader interface translations
Turkish is now the nineteenth display language. QC, classifier, DICOM listener, spectrum and SLOW-EPSI controls have expanded translation coverage. Changing the display language preserves loaded data, reconstruction options and classifier settings.
Scientific-use acknowledgement at startup
The application presents its scientific-use notice before opening the main workspace. Acceptance can be remembered for the current user and is stored outside the application package.
Runtime packaging
Fresh runtime builds exclude unnecessary dependency tests, bytecode caches, development files and installation archives. Required Python modules, compiled numerical libraries, runtime resources, package metadata and licences are retained.
Packages and validation
The 3.0.4 alpha Windows and Linux application builds include the fixes above. Synthetic Java-to-Python serial and parallel HLSVDpro calculations passed on Windows and under Ubuntu 22.04 and 24.04 in WSL. Verification on native Ubuntu 24.04 is still in progress.
The 3.0.4 alpha international archives are available for Windows 11 x64 and Linux x64. Each download page includes setup instructions and a SHA-256 checksum. Earlier 3.0.3 packages remain in the release archive.
